Learning Flow: Kanji → Kanji-based Vocab
The main track for learning Kanji is to first do a batch of Kanji lessons. There you’ll learn the components of the kanji, and have a mnemonic that helps you remember that kanji’s meaning. That’s not a vocab word yet, just what that kanji means in isolation. That's why there's no readings in the kanji section. Once you’ve completed a batch of kanji, you will unlock vocabulary that use those kanji. In Lessons → Kanji-based Vocab you’ll see to the right the number of Kanji-based Vocab lessons that have become available. I would recommend doing those Kanji-based Vocab lessons before doing any more kanji lessons, as that vocab will reinforce the kanji, and it’s the vocabulary that you actually use to speak and write. But — this is choose your own adventure. If you’d prefer to only learn the kanji, or learn many kanji first before doing Kanji-based Vocab lessons, we don’t stop you from taking that approach.
