Keyboard Shortcuts

We do have a couple keyboard shortcuts to make things faster. If you get an answer wrong due to a typo, you can hit the Escape key and your incorrect answer will be magically erased and you can try again. Use that feature with wisdom. If it’s a genuine typo and what you meant was the right answer, definitely use it. But if you got it wrong because you thought the word or readindg was something else, then it’s better to leave it wrong so the SRS system can do its magic and you’ll see that one a little more often.

We also have the Space bar to automatically open the vocab item. That will only work if either you have an answer wrong, or you’ve answered everything correctly. That lets you quickly check the answers in case you got one wrong, or you just want to review it before moving on to the next item. Both of those are configurable to other keys in the settings, but except for the space bar we don’t accept “printable” keys — meaning you can’t assign letters or numbers to those keys as that can cause a conflict when typing in answers.
